THE MTC- Week #5

Hey peeps!

This week was so insane. So first off, next time I email I will be in Chile! I leave Monday afternoon and take a Red Eye there. Also, i am officially the oldest in the MTC, which means that people see my little green sticker on my nametag and think we are so cool. It is actually kind of funny because I never felt that way about people with stickers before. We also got a new district in our zone, so me and comp had to go meet them and do a question and answer as the zone leaders. I feel like it was JUST me yesterday, so it felt super weird. My district sang in sacrament on sunday a mashup of "come, come ye saints and lead kimdñy light" and let me tell you it was bomb. We also had to plan the sacrament meeting as the ZLs and we had to choose 6 speakers and every time their name was called in sacrament they would give us a death glare like UH WHY DID YOU PICK ME. We also had to teach priesthood for the branch, so to say the least this week was busy. Something kind fo random this week is we got really into Nine square with another district. It is super competitive haha.

Fav scripture of the week: D&C 80:3. This is exactly what I will be doing in 5 days. I am so excited to get to Chile as hard as the spanish will be at first. I know it will eventually come.

Random things I did this week:
1. Translated all the spanish hymn titles to english ones so I actually know what song we are singing.
2. Started singing christmas songs in our morning and afternoon district devotional.
3. Had 2 laughing attacks again when I was reading letters from my sibs. Everyone started laughing with me this time though so it was not awkward.
4. Prepared 20 pans of chicken for dinner for our service project.
5. Told my teacher all about carrie underwood and gave her a lsit of 10 songs to listen to. She is now obsessed with her and sings her songs in class.
6. Last thing, an elder asked me what a hurricane was and then asked me what a tsunami was. And I kid you not he was not joking. I was trying to hold in my laugh.
7. Gave a priesthood blessing and after we were got locked in a room and it was in the middle of a rainstorm so nobody was outside to hear us. Anyways, we finally picked the lock somehow. But I was yelling pretty loud for a long time haha.

On a more serious note, Elder Smith confessed this week that he fell in the shower August 7th and has been having severe migraines since. We knew he was having headaches, but it got bad when his companion found him passed out in the bathroom stall. He was taken to the hospital as they thought he had a concussion. We started a district fast for him and his results came back negative! They do not know what is wrong but he cannot hold food in and he cannot come to class. They are waiting to see if he gets better this week to see if they will keep him here another week or if he will be sent home to recover. He is one of the four that is supposed to go to my mission. He did not tell anyone when he fell though because he really does not want to go home as the transition was already really tough for him. We have given him multiple priesthood blessings but we know everything will work out.

LOVE YOU ALL!

~ Elder Nord

I will put on my Chile address next time! But as soon as I leave the MTC there is no letter service system, so emails are great!

The ROCK of SHAME. If anyone talks in english in our district they have to carry around the rock until another person speaks in english. It is literally passed around like every 2 minutes cause we all speak english haha.

It is my last week in the MTC.... SO I got a green sticker. Now all the workers are only allowed to speak to me in spanish.

Me and my comp and some hermanas. The one in the yellow is going to my mission too.

Where I eat everyday.

My view from my window every morning.

We played what are the odds this week. And Elder Dyson lost against me and had to run outside in a DOWNPOUR. He was soaked when he got back haha
