In the words of my brother in law Jeff... What´s up party people,
This week was so good. We followed president´s orders and organized and cleaned out the whole area book- threw out all the people who did not go to church or did not show interest. So we went through every progress record and lesson record to see who we would save. We ended up with a pile of like 50 people to call and show up at their door. Well out of the 30 that we had time to go to this past week... about 5 have interest... and two came to church.... but he is living with a Venezuelan. We are going to talk to them this week about marriage. We are going to visit the rest this week. Yuyu came to church. She is so close to baptism ah. I really do not know how else to help her. She knows everything and wants to believe it is true and thinks it is true but she wants a yes or no answer. We have taught her she has already received her answer but she won´t accept that. We even taught her with a member psychologist who totally helped with some perspectives. Other than that we have some good people. Carlos: he needs a lot of help. His parents abandoned him when he was a kid and came back when is he was an adult and now his mind is just emotionally fried. He accepted a baptismal date but we need to help him a lot.
Teresa:she stopped smoking! She listens to mormon channel everyday. She is all good for baptism. She had to go to northern chile for like 2 weeks. We figured out where the closest church was for her (50 minutes by bus) and she went Sunday morning to find it with her husband and grandson... but they never found it. So after church I called her and they said they were waiting in the bus terminal to go back home. I was so disappointed. But president said that showed sufficient effort to go to church so she stays strong with her baptismal date for the 16th. Her husband is progressing too. He still needs to stop smoking but the amount everyday has lowered. Their grandson also wants to be baptized but we need to get the signature of his mom who lives in another area and does not care about him bc she has the legal rights.
Eli: was supposed to be baptized this upcoming Saturday but did not come to church EVEN AFTER we went to her house to wake up and she came to the window and said ok I will come. She fell asleep again. You have to meet this girl. But we pushed her date back for the 9th.
Today I went to San Carlos and hung out with the elders there. We played monopoly (latins love monopoly... a little too much haha my comp has 3 different monopoly boards) then we ate lunch (pichanga) with members and watched "Freetown" about the missionaries in Africa during a civil war. AND I did not have to suffer in my shirt and tie all day. Fun day.
I was thinking this week and so many times we want an answer. But what is so amazing about God´s plan is sometimes He trusts in us to make a decision. If the decision we make is correct, we may not feel anything because the answer is Him not responding... meaning what are you doing is ok. If the decision be wrong, he will let us know because he will NOT lead us astray. Simple and common but so easy to forget. Sometimes it is not WHAT we ask but HOW we ask. I loved a quote from this week that says "Prayer keeps a man from sin, and sin keeps a man from prayer." So true.
Miss you guys. Love you!
