The MTC- Week #4

Image
HEY! So so many things happened this week. First off, we taught TRC last week and it was the funniest thing ever. We were teaching about prayer and we were teaching this lady and we asked her to READ the 3rd verse of "did you thnk to pray"... we look down at the lyrics thinking she will start reading it. Yeah no. She fulls on started belting the song from verse 1 and sang the whole song as a solo and she was SO off. I was literally trying so hard not to laugh but a little peep came out and I tried covering it with a cough. Also, it did not help I was on splits with elder dyson and he made me laugh more. Ok, next thing is that I had to give a talk on sunday. It is crazy here because they do not tell you who is giving a talk so you always have to prepare one for the topic of that week and then they call your name if you ae speaking. Anyways, it went pretty well. I was for sure reading it word for word. On the other hand some big news. I was made Zone Leader of my branc...

The MTC- Week #3

Ok things are finally starting to pick up here. I officially am half way done with the MTC! This week was weird. A saying here is that a week in the MTC feels like a day and a day feels like a week. It is so true. They keep us so busy. My spanish is slowly but surely coming. I do not stress about the language though. My companion is always like "I do not even want a P Day, we just have SO much to learn. And I am like WELL I AM SO READY FOR MY P-DAY." I just tell myself, I have been here for 3 weeks. It takes a LONG time to master a langauge so I just try my best. We have started playing this really fun game called "Who is the Latin." Everyone in our district is not allowed to talk in english during class in front of the teacher. The teacher goes out of the room and we pick someone to be the latin, who under no circumstance can speak english. We go through the day and if she hears anyone speak english then she can cross their name out and the list gets shorter for w...

The MTC - Week #2

Hey! Ok wow this week was so slow (much better than last week though). I am told it gets faster and faster every week though! So many things happened this week! First off my companion had the fever and then vertigo. So all last week we basically had to sit inside our apartment while he slept. SO I am a little behind. Then, he got me sick and Saturday night my nose turned into a faucet. Sunday I was positive I had flu because every muscle in my body hurt, but then Monday was totally fine. SOOOO RUNNY. My nose now looks like Rudolph, but whatever. Sunday was fast and testimony meeting. All in spanish. I went and bore my testimony for 3 minutes with the very brief gospel vocabulary I know about the Plan of Salvation. I joined the choir here and we sang and it is so funny because almost everyone is in the choir so at devotional when they say will the choir please stand up, literally the whole audience stands up haha. OK 2 funny stories. So I have a s...

The MTC Life- Week #1

Hola! I have officially been in the Mexico MTC now for 8 days. I swear it has been a couple months. It was SO hard saying bye to the fam. I have taught five 25 minute lessons in spanish to investigators, taught sunday school, gone to the Mexico City Temple, eaten tortillas too many times to count, almost mastered the 282 list of basic core words used as a missionary, probably said over 100 prayers, and do not understand most of what my teacher says until she repeats it in english. My companion is Elder Marchant from Bluffdale, Utah. I got here last Tuesday in a RAINSTORM. I like my district a lot. There are 4 pairs of elders and 1 pair of hermanas. Me, mycomp, and another set of elders are going to Concepcion. The others are all either going to ViƱa Del Mar, Chile or Quito, Ecuador. They are all from the states. One missionary in my district literally cannot say anything right...it is almost a joke now. He says hola like HOLLLLAAA whats up! In class FridayI had a laughing attack for n...
