The MTC - Week #2

Hey! Ok wow this week was so slow (much better than last week though). I am told it gets faster and faster every week though! So many things happened this week! First off my companion had the fever and then vertigo. So all last week we basically had to sit inside our apartment while he slept. SO I am a little behind. Then, he got me sick and Saturday night my nose turned into a faucet. Sunday I was positive I had flu because every muscle in my body hurt, but then Monday was totally fine. SOOOO RUNNY. My nose now looks like Rudolph, but whatever. Sunday was fast and testimony meeting. All in spanish. I went and bore my testimony for 3 minutes with the very brief gospel vocabulary I know about the Plan of Salvation. I joined the choir here and we sang and it is so funny because almost everyone is in the choir so at devotional when they say will the choir please stand up, literally the whole audience stands up haha. OK 2 funny stories. So I have a sore in my mouth and I tried the hottest salsa this week for fun, totally forgetting I had this sore in mouth. I let out a good howl and it hurt for seriously 10 minutes. Also, companion asked me what the spanish word for salsa was. I was like ummm hahaha that is a spanish word. I get to go to the temple again today at 2. I started teaching 2 new fake investigators. Tomorrow we start TRC, which is where my companion and I will teach our first REAL person from outside the MTC wall. They are members, but a lot of them are inactive and wanting to hear the message again. SO, that might be rough considering my spanish is still that of a 2 year old. I got asked to say a prayer this Sunday in the devotional in Spanish..... in front of 600 people haha. I will need to work on that. Also, it has only been 2 weeks and gracias and por favor have already become part of my personal prayers by accident. SO MANY PRAYERS ARE SAID EVERYDAY IT GETS STUCK IN YOUR BRAIN.

My favorite spiritual things happened towards the end of this week. I decided to start the Book of Mormon over on Monday during my Personal Study time. I started at the introduction. I want to really start and dig deep into it. In my past it has been a couple verses or chapters here and there. BUT, now on a mission. I have an hour everyday set aside for Personal Study! Anyone can join me! In church, someone said "Will I count time or make time count." I guilty of this as I have literally already started a countdown of when I am leaving the MTC and when I am coming home. We are here for this time. Our focus should be here and fully devoted to the work. Another quote I liked was " there is no growth in the comfort zone and no comfort in the growth zone." This is a HUGE change in our lives and we should not feel comfortable. It is stressful, hard, and requires work, just like many other challenges in life. I know I will grow from this difficult transition, even if in the moment it almost seems unbearable at times. There is always light at the end of the dark tunnel.

Thank you SO much for all the letters I have received. It is always my favorite part of the day. I have the best support group backing me up! You are all the best. Sorry if I don´t have time to respond to your emails. My companion is very strict about the 60 minute rule.

Wanna write me:
