The MTC- Week #4
HEY! So so many things happened this week. First off, we taught TRC last week and it was the funniest thing ever. We were teaching about prayer and we were teaching this lady and we asked her to READ the 3rd verse of "did you thnk to pray"... we look down at the lyrics thinking she will start reading it. Yeah no. She fulls on started belting the song from verse 1 and sang the whole song as a solo and she was SO off. I was literally trying so hard not to laugh but a little peep came out and I tried covering it with a cough. Also, it did not help I was on splits with elder dyson and he made me laugh more. Ok, next thing is that I had to give a talk on sunday. It is crazy here because they do not tell you who is giving a talk so you always have to prepare one for the topic of that week and then they call your name if you ae speaking. Anyways, it went pretty well. I was for sure reading it word for word.
On the other hand some big news. I was made Zone Leader of my branch. So did not see that coming but happy to do it! Just a lot more meetings haha. Also, I sang in devotional last night. I sang "If the savior stood beside me" (1st and 3rd verse in spanish and 2nd verse in english). My painist was so good and we nailed it! I feel semi popular now because everyone was like I think I saw you last night at the pulpit haha. Also, the choir sang I am a child of god and I had a solo for the first tw9o lines in that as well. AND my district is singing in our church this sunday again so 3 solos in one week haha. This week was way more fun as we started to play sand volleyball as a district everyday. We are pretty good and beat all the other districts now. Also, we got locked out of our room this week after curfew while in the bathroom and I did not have a shirt on or my nametag haha so we had to borrow our neighbors clothes and sprint over in the pitch black. It was kinda fun. Also can I just say me and my companion could not be more different. Literally exact opposites in everything. It is crazy I leave for Chile in 12 days. Sometimes when I am lost in class I just sit there and imagine how I am going to have a blank face when someone says something to me that I do not understand. haha anyways it literally thunders and rains here almost every night. And people are so used to it here. My teahcer was going to walk home in a torrential downpour the other day without an umbrella and she lives 20 mins away. Last thing, the other night I looked at my watch and it said 4 am but I thought it was the second time that is on my watch for CA. SO I sat there thinking ok the alarm is going to g off here in about 20 mins. Little did I know it was actually the Mexico time so I sat there for 2.5 hours thinking every minute wow this is the longest 20 minutes of my life haha.
Fave scripture of the week: Philippians 4:7. The MTC president gave a whole devotional on how we should feel peace knowing that we are worthy and ready to be here. We were called to our specific missions. My favorite part was a video at the end that said "He is here. He has risen. Find Him. #BecauseHeLives. It has been so great being able to further my knowledge in the gospel and slowly strengthen my spanish. The lessons are getting better and better but I know I will be totally lost once I get to chile.
I love you all and all the letters and emails! Talk to you next week!
