Week #12

Ok first off it is blazing hot here and it is only spring. Everyone says it will get way hotter... yay missionary life is the best walking outside in the sun all day.... haha but actually it is great. So this week was so different. I got my new comp and since I am still here and he is new I had to direct the sector, which is not normal for someone in training haha. SO we got lost a few times but know we know where we are going! My comp has 14 months in the mission and he is super nice. He is ALWAYS singing. I thought I was bad. Now I get what people mean when they say it is annoying hahaha.
So this week was all about planting seeds for us. We literally have like every problem with our investigators. One guys we talked to tried to commmit suicide 3 times and we taught him about Peace. He is NEVER home so it is difficult to find him. Another investigator likes what we are teaching, but her aunt had her funeral at the church and she refuses to go to the church as she remembers the open casket. Another is a couple from Haiti and they want to get baptized and they come to church, but they are not married and cannot get married without a paper they need from Haiti.... and they are not going back to haiti for over a year. Another is a girl who is Hitano (it is some different culture here in chile and they live in the field in tent type houses for the whole summer) and she wants to gte baptized but she leaves this staurday to go live in the field and they are not coming back until like April..... SO none of our investigators are progessing that much. Luckily, we found one haitian (choomy) who only speaks english and he came to church and we taught him an english lesson during the week too! He is super commited to us and told us he wants to learn more about God in English. I love helping Haitains. They are SO nice and they want a change in their life. One day I was thinking about my family and then I was thinking about how it must be SO hard for them to leave their family FOR GOOD to come to Chile for a better life. We have it so good. Seriously modern day pioneers trekking on to have a better life. More about this next week.
Scripture of the week: 1 Nephi 12:17 (it is so easy to fall off the straight and narrow. but so easy to follow it if we just live what the bible, BOM, and prophets say). #neverletgo (iron rod, but titanic)

Other fun things:

1. I sang in church and at a baptismal service for a convert of the hermanas. 
2. We had an activity in the stake center and all the stuff of my chilean comp was taken. All his scriptures and everything from his whole mission (and he goes home in 4 weeks) so he was really sad all his scripture markings are gone.
3. A woman told me she sees her baby boy in my eyes and face and that we look similar. Like 5 mins later the baby boy comes out. Straight up opposite of what I look like. Brown eyes. brown hair. brown skin.
4. Our District (stake) is in the process of trying to rebecome a stake! So branches will turn into wards and the district into a stake. Everyone is really hoping it happens soon!

THE MTC- Week #5

Hey peeps! This week was so insane. So first off, next time I email I will be in Chile! I leave Monday afternoon and take a Red Eye there. Also, i am officially the oldest in the MTC, which means that people see my little green sticker on my nametag and think we are so cool. It is actually kind of funny because I never felt that way about people with stickers before. We also got a new district in our zone, so me and comp had to go meet them and do a question and answer as the zone leaders. I feel like it was JUST me yesterday, so it felt super weird. My district sang in sacrament on sunday a mashup of "come, come ye saints and lead kimdñy light" and let me tell you it was bomb. We also had to plan the sacrament meeting as the ZLs and we had to choose 6 speakers and every time their name was called in sacrament they would give us a death glare like UH WHY DID YOU PICK ME. In the words of my brother in law Jeff... What´s up party people, This week was so good. We followed president´s orders and organized and cleaned out the whole area book- threw out all the people who did not go to church or did not show interest. So we went through every progress record and lesson record to see who we would save. We ended up with a pile of like 50 people to call and show up at their door. Well out of the 30 that we had time to go to this past week... about 5 have interest... and two came to church.... but he is living with a Venezuelan. We are going to talk to them this week about marriage. We are going to visit the rest this week. Yuyu came to church. She is so close to baptism ah. I really do not know how else to help her. She knows everything and wants to believe it is true and thinks it is true but she wants a yes or no answer. We have taught her she has already received her answer but she won´t accept that. ALOHA. I miss hawaii this week as it randomly got REALLY hot. It is always cold in the morning and night but the HEAT came during the day. Ok wow I always freak out when I am writing because I always have so many things happen and I have so little time. BUT sorry no pics this week, I forogt my chord. Anyways in no specific order there are some crazy things. So missionaies dont eat dinner here. We eat a freakishly large lunch, like very large, and i swear I am going to explode after after time i eat. Andyou have to eat it all. Not gonna lie, I have stuffed some things in my pocket. So we eat at  1:30  with members and then eat a snack when we get home at  9:30 . Also today is Chile's independance day (equiv of our  4th of july ). So I guess it a law here that everyone has to have a chile flag in their window or hanging up outside or you will get a ticket, so we had to go buy one under the direction of the mish prez. BUT i was trying to learn my vocab and i acciden...
