December 18th

HO HO HOLA!

Merry Christmas! I do not know if I will be able to email next week since I will be SKYPING MY FAMILY NEXT WEEK! 
Funny:
1. We were teaching this woman and she somehow related everything we said about the restoration to anything in her life. For example, "this gospel blesses families" and then she would go on to be like yeah and that is exactly why I cannot figure out my phone or yeah and that is how I bought my dog and that is why mexican food is my favorite. We were dying of laughter.
2. I ordered completos last week. I said without mayo. he thought I said without the hot dog meat as they are semi similar. So I am eating my completos and like 3/4th the way through I was like ok why does this tatse so strange and i opened it up and underneath all the avocado, tomato, and sauces was a big fat NOTHING. No meat haha. Lol.
Cool:
1. We got to go to the other sector this week as the assistants called us to go and put a baptismal date for an investigator of the hermanas.
2. We had the mission olympic tryouts for our zone. The zone picks the best for the 6 categories to send to compete with the best from the other 8 zones. I tried out for the music. Me and another person had to sing. HE WAS SO GOOD. We turned around. They voted. VOTES: 16-16. TIE. So we had to sing naother song. Turned around. VOTES: 16-16. TIE. THIRD TIME WE SANG. turned around. VOTES: 17 (ME)- 15 (HIM). Ah now just to the other 8 people in the mission haha. 
3. We went caroling to the neighborhood christmas party by us. They had a christian rock band and then we were up next singing xmas hymns. They were al STOKED that 2 gringos from America were there to sing. 
4. I was studying 2 NEPHI 28 on day this week and literally our first lesson we had was the exact chapter this girl needed. When she asked her questions... my eyes opened up BIG and I was like I HAVE EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED. 
5. We found 3 awesome new people this week (we found a lot more than 3, but they weren't so awesome). We had them all committed to church. Went to church and nobody was there. Right as church was starting 5 people came! And then in the middle of the metting we hear a big thud from the entrance and next thing we know 2 more of our investigators were sitting next to us! WOOO 7 in church! They all have problems that we are working on, butttt if they keep coming to church I know they will recieve the help they need!

This week I was focused on searching after the things of God, and not the things of the world. So many people are caught up in this season of how many presents will I get or GIVE ME GIVE ME GIVE.... when we should be saying "What can I give right now." I am so happy to be able to study the scriptures and focus more on the spiritual side of christmas this year. This is a total random connection but I know that Jesus is the way to recieve happiness. I was reading in the Liahona this week and I love the article by Elder Holland called "The Gospel Path to Happiness" from September 2017. I challenge you all to read it. Something he said was that it a "quest for happiness. Nobody is always happy 24 hours a day, 7 days a week." Through him we can feel this joy and hope that comes from living His perfect teachings. He is the way. The only way. Watch this video

I know that he is always there to help us when we are down. He will never abandon us and especially in this time of christmas, we should seriously take a moment to think about what he did as we literally cannot even comprehend it. Remember him and that he is waiting there for you in everything you do with arms stretched out.

THE MTC- Week #5

Hey peeps! This week was so insane. So first off, next time I email I will be in Chile! I leave Monday afternoon and take a Red Eye there. Also, i am officially the oldest in the MTC, which means that people see my little green sticker on my nametag and think we are so cool. It is actually kind of funny because I never felt that way about people with stickers before. We also got a new district in our zone, so me and comp had to go meet them and do a question and answer as the zone leaders. I feel like it was JUST me yesterday, so it felt super weird. My district sang in sacrament on sunday a mashup of "come, come ye saints and lead kimdñy light" and let me tell you it was bomb. We also had to plan the sacrament meeting as the ZLs and we had to choose 6 speakers and every time their name was called in sacrament they would give us a death glare like UH WHY DID YOU PICK ME. We also had to teach priesthood for the branch, so to say the least this week was busy. Something kind...

In the words of my brother in law Jeff... What´s up party people, This week was so good. We followed president´s orders and organized and cleaned out the whole area book- threw out all the people who did not go to church or did not show interest. So we went through every progress record and lesson record to see who we would save. We ended up with a pile of like 50 people to call and show up at their door. Well out of the 30 that we had time to go to this past week... about 5 have interest... and two came to church.... but he is living with a Venezuelan. We are going to talk to them this week about marriage. We are going to visit the rest this week. Yuyu came to church. She is so close to baptism ah. I really do not know how else to help her. She knows everything and wants to believe it is true and thinks it is true but she wants a yes or no answer. We have taught her she has already received her answer but she won´t accept that. ALOHA. I miss hawaii this week as it randomly got REALLY hot. It is always cold in the morning and night but the HEAT came during the day. Ok wow I always freak out when I am writing because I always have so many things happen and I have so little time. BUT sorry no pics this week, I forogt my chord. Anyways in no specific order there are some crazy things. So missionaies dont eat dinner here. We eat a freakishly large lunch, like very large, and i swear I am going to explode after after time i eat. Andyou have to eat it all. Not gonna lie, I have stuffed some things in my pocket. So we eat at  1:30  with members and then eat a snack when we get home at  9:30 . Also today is Chile's independance day (equiv of our  4th of july ). So I guess it a law here that everyone has to have a chile flag in their window or hanging up outside or you will get a ticket, so we had to go buy one under the direction of the mish prez.
