Transfer 4 week 2
Random:
1. When there is a funeral here everyone follows the car with the body and there is a line of like 100 cars all driving through the streets and tey do not let you pass by so when it comes you are stuck for like 5 minutes just waiting.
2. My comp Elder Polanco from the DR literally says the word "loco" every other 3 words. It is like "po" for chile but in the DR. Or "like" or "um" for the united states. I have no idea if it just him or from his country but wow I have heard that word more times than I can count.
Update:
1: Shoomy. He has a baptism date for this saturday. I think he is actually going to come this time haha. 3RD time is the charm. He just wants to follow god.
2: Monserrat and Martina. We had a FHE with them and they believe everything and know pray in front of us and want to be baptized! They told us their parents said yes but were not crazy about the idea.... so yesterday we went to their house to get their signature and they had not told the mom! She was "WHO IS GETTING BAPTIZED" and so then we came back later in the night to talk to Monserrat and Martina and they were like "lets just go sign a fake signature" haha but we explained the gospel is here to strengthen families not tear them apart so we had to have the permission of the parents. So, then they went insdie and asked and they came out and said that as of right now their parents said no. So, we were pretty heartbroken.... but we are meeting with the parents this week to talk to them. So keep praying for them.
3. Andres and Francisco. 2 people we found this week who also said they want to be baptized but they need to come to church which is the hardest part.... so hopefully they will progress this week!
Fav scripture: Mosiah 14: 5-7
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we, like sheep, have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquities of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb so he opened not his mouth.
I am so happy to know that christ is always there. If there is one thing I think about when I think about him is my friend. True friends are willing to bend over backwards or in this case literally suffer and bleed from every pore for us. The question now asked is "What have you done for YOUR friend?" Have you gained a relationship with him, have you studied his life and his teachings, have you lived a life by his example, have you shared with others how to gain his eternal happiness? He is always there no matter what, so when you are ready to grow that relationship.... he is waiting. I love you all and I love this gospel. Thank you for the emails I get every week. They are always a energy boost!
Los quiero mucho. ¡Les hablaré a todos la próxima semana!
