Transfer 4 week 3
Well this week for sure was a little rough. Our 6 best investigators dropped us. Unexpectedly. ALL 6. They were progressing so well. But we put 3 other people with a baptismal date so you win some and you lose some.
Stuff from my week:
1. The pope came to chile this week and everybody wa flipping out and every channel was him driving on the freeway in his car.
2. Had an intercambio with Elder Stutz from Denver! He is one of the only people I know that is going to be going to BYU with me haha. He's awesome.
3. IDK why but everyone just pees in the street here. It is not an uncommon sight to see people peeing on the wall or in the corners on the sidewalk or road
4. Elder Packer (the son of Boyd K. Packer and in the area presidency) came to Linares saturday to have a meeting with all the leaders in the district and we got to attend! He talked about how the parents and families are the missionaries for the youth and how everyone needs to invite the missionaries over to teach their investigators but also to teach the youth in families. It was great and I hope the members start taking action! I also sang in the choir for him. It is always amazing to hear a general authority and all the wonderful counsel they give us!
5. Had 3 investigators in church. 2 less actives. Our 2 with a baptismal date are haitian.
6. Our other haitian investigator had his interview last week and did not pass so he had to be interviewed by someone in the mission presidency but his desire to be baptized is very strong! He passed but his gf has plans to move in with him in 3 weeks soooo....hopefully in the future...
Overall, this week was bumpy but life is a bumpy road right. I love the quote by thomas s monson that says, "We can’t direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails." I know this work is truly blessing others.
