Transfer 4 week 6
So this week was great. We have a baptism this saturday for a haitian named cesarius. He is about 60 and seriously just always says feliz and thumbs up to everything we say through google translate. He only speaks kreol. But he understands all of the lessons! He is like a 4 year old but in a 60 year old body.
Highlights:
1. Read 20 chapters of the BOM again this week haha. It is like my fav hobby in the mission haha
2. A drunk man grabbed my arm and was squeezing SO hard and digging his nails in and he would not let go and was screaming at me if I knew Trump. I finally plucked his fingers off after like 5 minutes and ran away with my comp haha
3. Watermelon with Toasted Flour is so good. Sounds so gross but it is no joke amazing.
4. It is 95 degrees here everyday with humidity. I am so excited for fall.
5. My comp told me I talk in my sleep. IN SPANISH. WHAT. Ok that is something I did not expect.
6. Officially convinced Thursdays are the worst day of the week. Somehow every thursday all our investigators drop us or every appt we have falls and lunch is canceled.
7. All the youth went to PFJ this week, which is EFY here in South America. In church they all bore their testimony and they were saying it was so hard to leave their family for 5 days and I was sitting there thinking omg try a mission haha. No but they are so awesome and good youth and will be great future misisonaries.
8. We had divisions this week and I went to teach a family about the plan of salvation and the temple and at the end I invited them to be baptized and they said YES! A family of 3 that are listening. It will probably take a while but ah planting seeds and giving them the goal to get cealed in the temple! I just love missionary work (especially families).
Fav scripture: Alma 38:12 BE BOLD. As a missionary we have to be bold all day, everyday. There are so many times that I am hesitant to talk to someone because I am 94% sure they will reject me when I can see the dreadful look on their face as I am walking towards them with my big smile haha. Boldness is sometimes hard to have. BUT boldness is what makes people change. Sometimes I think yikes I do not want to be bold today... but if you are not bold in every moment then we miss people the lord is DIRECTLY putting in our path.
I love you all! I love the BOM and just want to express my love for this gospel. It brings so much joy. I am so happy because I have it in my life. Thanks for all your love and support! 18 more months haha
