March 5th 2018: Transfer 5 Week 3
Sorry I did not write last week. I had no time! My new sector is San Vicente in Talchuano Norte which is on the peninusla. I can see the beach when I climb a hill but there is no beach in my sector. I am now in a ward which is weird cause every program is actually somewhat functioning whereas in my other sector it was all us doing everything haha. My new sector is THE SMALLEST sector in the mission. And my old sector was THE BIGGEST sector in the mission so it was quite a change. There are no joke only about 20 streets haha. In terms of weather, it is way cooler here which is SO NICE. I was dying of heat in my old sector (like 100). We also have lunch everyday here which is so nice. The church is weird the sacrament room is on the second floor. There is a huge fresh market every saturdayon the main street which is awesome and I am now close to Concepcion so we can take our investigators to the temple. Speaking of which this week the temple announced it will be dedicated October 28th! I am stoked!
RANDOM:
My inner gringo always comes out. I will be talking and say me gusta este chicken mucho haha or something similar. Also, I hate teaching old people because they just slur all their words and they do not even try to understand what I am saying because I have a gringo accent. ALL the street names are the same in all of Chile. Literally the same streets names are in like all 5 sectors I have visited. I also do not like latin names because they keep the last name of the husband and the wife and so nobody has the same last name and it is so hard to tell who is family and who is not.
FUNNY:
So I am finishing the training of my comp and he has 8 weeks and the other day he asked me if we were allowed to pray for our families because it would make him trunky HAHA. I was like dude you can pray for WHATEVER you want that is a conversation between you and the lord.
Fav scrip:
last week was D&C 123:17 bc it was a very rough week haha
17 Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us cheerfully doall things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed.
This week is Alma 57:21. I love the army of helaman because when they were obedient they were blessed. I know as we are trying our best the lord will do the rest. BLESSINGS are about to come here in San Vicente just gotta keep plugging along cheerfully and we will see the hand of the lord in all things!
21 Yea, and they did aobey and observe to perform every word of command with exactness; yea, and even according to their faith it was done unto them; and I did remember the words which they said unto me that their bmothers had taught them.
This week we had a mission conference with elder bragg of the seventy and he focused in on the reality of where we are called to serve is direct revelation and how we truly can understand the atonement more. He challenged us to write one full page of what the atonement means to us because it forces us to think more about it and use simpler terms to understand more. I loved waht was said about love. We learned that we can have love for all people but unless they understand that we love them they will not accept our message..... but they will never feel your love if they are are not willing to listen to us.
Love you all! Talk to you next week!
