BUENAS! Sorry I have been so bad at sending emails. We had an "open chapel" this saturday from 4-8 in the night. Our ward has been planning it for like 4 months. It was so AWESOME! We actually hit a record for the mission. We had 32 investigators come. The highest before was 30 in the sector of the AP´s. Sometimes they have 0-5 so it was super successful. President called me today to say good job haha. There is a service missionary couple who is in charge of helping wards put them on every weekend in different areas. The tour starts in the chapel where 2 hermanas gave an intro and they listened to the words of christ with the christus photo. Then they pass into the cultural hall where 2 other missionaries explain 8 banners about the restoration. Then they go into the baptismal font where 2 elders are dressed in white (baptismal clothing) and explain baptism and the holy ghost. Then they pass through the primary, young womens, young mens, priesthood, and relief society rooms where each organization has a 3 minute presentation prepared on what they do, with a stand and materials and pictures. Then they end in another room where the relief society has a table of all the food they have learned to make together and they mingle there and then slowly as they are about to leave... the 2 missionaries from the sector (so me and my comp) go in and introduce ourselves and ask what they thought and if we can pass by another day to teach them more! It was so great. We had zone conference this week and we learned all about the new "Preach my Gospel" and president focused on the importance of "hope". When there is no hope, there will be no success. I am not sure who said this but it goes something along the lines of "you can live without a lot of things, but you can´t live without hope". Hope is key in our lives as missionaries to keep going even when EVERYTHING falls through (which happens all day everyday...) we need hope in every aspect of our lives (missionaries or not) or we will not be motivated to act.
Quick update: Sonia is still on bed rest from having her baby but is basically all set for baptism. She just needs to go to church when she recovers. Hector is hesitant to accept a baptismal date. He loves church and says he will act when he gets a sign....but he does not know how he will feel when he gets one....he might be waiting a while.

Funny:
1. They were explaining the transfers in PMG and this one elder raises his hand very confused and goes (this is me translating) "why does the new point say 'por conducto' and not 'mediante'. Those words are basically like the same thing so everyone starts laughing so hard bc he was genuinely serious. Ok it was SO funny but you had to be there.
2. In Zone conf, president in the middle of his lesson called me up to sing a song with him without telling me and I had to sightread bc I did not know the tenor part and well... I hope it went well. In our district musical number, they told me it was the best they had heard in the mission (lucky when you have 3 gringos).

Training is good. Elder Ashton is progressing a lot! MISS YOU!
