We had the mission olympics. I was nervous because I was completely sick. BUT I WON THE SINGING AGAIN. TWO YEARS IN A ROW BABY. Then for fun after we won, president made everyone do arrangements of hymns. We sang silent night. It was dope. And then we totally made the next one a joke for everyone. Everyone was being all serious and we had already won so we had to sing families can be together forever but we beatboxed and snapped and made it fast and started semi dancing and made it a total joke. Everyone was dying of laughter and president loved it. Last year my zone won like every competition. But this year we only won the singing haha. I have lots of videos. We also were part of the ward choir in the christmas program sunday. Saturday Yanina got baptized and it was SO spiritual. My comp and I sang a musical number (he played the guitar while I sang). Yanina got up and bore her testimony and it was one of the strongest ones I have ever felt. Here in Chile there is a rule where you have to wait a long time to get married again after you get a divorce... so when they finally were able to get married last weekend so that she could get baptized this weekend (because they were living together) she was SO happy. She was just in tears ALL day. I love this family. They are so generous. They already have given me 2 christmas gifts.
Miracle: we were knocking doors one day and in the middle of a lesson outside a member stuck her head out the window of a nearby house saying to come by after we finished. We went over and she was visiting her friend who said when she saw us outside in the blazing heat she felt something. We taught her and committed her to go to the baptism on saturday and she came and wants to be baptized! She even stayed for the RS party. I had kind of a mini humbling moment. We passed by during the week and she had not read the pamphlet we left. Then in the baptism I was teaching her how to use the hymn book and she finally told me she could not read but was too embarrassed to tell me before. I think so many times we take for granted little things that we never even think about such as reading. We are so priviliged to have grown up in a society where we are taught these things.
Honestly every day I love Chile even more. AH the mission is just the best. I was thinking this week how sad I will be next christmas when I will not have my plaque and not be able to just go knock doors or stop someone on the street all december and share the gospel. Yesterday night we planned to go christmas caroling with 3 people from the ward to ALL of the members in the ward who normally come to church. Everyone was so excited. They all said it was the first time people had come to their house to sing. 3 people cried! It was such a sweet and small act of service that showed the real spirit of christmas. I felt SO happy after. The scripture Mosiah 12:17 rings true. I LOVE SERVING OTHERS. Find a way to light the world of others today or tomorrow.
