Hello world,

This Tuesday it dumped and dumped rain all day which is so rare because we are in the dead middle of the blazing summer. I was freezing I was even using hand warmers and a beanie. I forgot what it is like when there is nobody in the streets and nobody will open their doors. But something I love about the rain is that it helps us realize who is prepared. When it is pouring rain, the majority of the people do not want to talk, but those who are willing to do so are people who God is obviously putting in our path for a reason. For example, Tuesday we found Nicolas who talked with us under the rain for 20 minutes and said he has never received a christian education. Well Thursday the heat cranked way up again and then I totally missed the rain. I am bipolar about the weather. We had a great FHE with the Chodil family and the married Haitian couple we are teaching.
Funny:
1. I am now converted to baby wipes instead of toilet paper. They are cheaper here too!
2. If you want to know what I am listening to look up ¨Grace¨, ¨Never Alone¨, and ¨Child of God¨ by the Bonner Family. They are my JAM. My literal dream is to have a family that can all sing.
3. We stopped by Noel to see if he was home and another Haitian that did not speak Spanish opened the door. We asked him if Noel was home and he looked super confused. He said that Noel had left Christmas Eve.... we had talked to him 2 days before so we knew he had not moved. He asked him if Noel was working and he said probably bc he works all year. We decided to go back when Noel was home so we said bye to this man and told him to tell Noel that we had stopped by to visit. HIS EYES OPENED UP and he was like OH NOEL. GUYS. HE THOUGHT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT PAPA NOEL (as in santa Claus). My comp and I were dying of laughter... I mean who knocks on a door asking to talk to Santa Claus hahaha.
4. We had ward council this week and (call me a 4 year old but) I feel so cool in council. I feel so formal when everyone takes notes on what we are saying.
5. I was in lesson outside and my chair fully broke in the middle of the lesson and I fall to the floor. It fell at an angle where the leg of the chair broke so I fell towards the wall. When I tried to stand up, the window was open and I banged into it (not seeing it) and then fell down again. The man we were teaching was dying of laughter. I was not lol bc I was bleeding.
I totally am working to keep my goals that I made for the year. I really studied the bible this week. I made a whole summary of the bible of how everything connects and the generation lines. Something that really struck me this week is the power of prayer. Even though god knows us better than ourselves he will never ever answer us until we ask him. Example, a parent knows that a kid wants to go their favorite singers concert but they will not give permission until you ask. It is quite simple but most people do not understand it. We need to literally ask him not just think about it and hope that he will help us. If we do so, he will respond without a doubt.

We had 6 people in church yesterday and now we have 4 with a baptismal date for Feb 2nd. We are totally at the start of a ton of things! I love missionary work AH! IT IS THE BEST!

How the milk is here. I found it really interesting when I got here. Just shelves of boxes of flavored milk. No fresh milk.
